THE HISTORY
35 years ago Alesandra Designer Knitwear was started with the vision of using the "diamond fibre" - namely Mohair - to create luxurious, designer, knitwear pieces.LIKA is the re-imagination of this vision.The love of beauty, art and design is the inspiration behind the LIKA knitwear range, mixed with a modern take on the vintage styles from the 1980s.
THE FIBRES
Using almost exclusively natural fibres - like mohair, merino wool and cotton - every LIKA garment guarantees you the exceptional luxury and beauty that only a natural fibre can provide.
Mohair is often called the “diamond fibre” as it is the most luxurious fibre to wear. It is light in weight yet warm even in the coldest of conditions. The modern blends of mohair are specifically engineered to be durable, non-scratch and comfortable.
The LIKA winter range consists of two types of mohair garments - one using a beautiful thick and cosy mohair, and another using the extremely light yet warm kid Mohair. The LIKA pure wool garments are silky soft and comfortable to the touch, and made from 100% Merino Wool.
THE FIT
At LIKA we take great care to create garments that flatter most figures in fit and colour. Each garment has been meticulously designed to ensure the quality of the fit meets the quality of the fibre.There are varied lengths to suit from short to tall figures. The body shapes have dropped shoulders which create a softly fitting silhouette. Sleeve and cuff detail is important throughout the range.Most of the garments have a straight hemline which makes it ideal to wear with a belt or tucked in.
